Gwagwa Community Outreach
In November 2013, MAISCEF carried out a community outreach in Gwagwa, a small local settlement in the outskirts of Abuja metropolis.
The exercise was sponsored by the Old Students Association of Federal Government School within and around Abuja.
Hundreds of persons had genotype test including the emir of the Community and his wives. A total of 30 sickle cell patients were identified and added to MAISCEF database from through which they have continued to receive care from the foundation.
Members of the community received various portions of provisions and food items. In addition, children in the community were treated with hot steamy plates of Indomie meals, courtesy of one of our major partners.
Overall, the outreach made a huge impact on the community.
